Alright, so as you know Mims has released his first “historical” interactive EP, where artists and producers are able to feature on the project and possibly be chosen to work with him officially in future endeavors. Once selected, artists are to promote the single via iTunes. Since the artist will only make about 5% per track sold via iTunes, and there are several artists featured on the same track, the artist have little to gain. This has got to be one of the most clever and surreptitious marketing strategies I have seen any label use to make money off unsigned artists in a long time. So, we have bought a copy of Mims track, “Rom Pom Pom”, featuring Prophet-Z. Fortunately, as always, Prophet-Z comes correct and well sharp on the single. Unfortunately, Prophet-Z, like the ton of artists who are also featuring on the single, has nothing to gain but a bit of exposure...oh yeah, and the alleged 5% of royalties from each sale of the track (peanuts). So we have provided the link for you to listen to the track here for free here via YouTube:
If you like Prophet-Z’s performance on the track, then please sincerely support the artist and help build his buzz by purchasing the track on iTunes here: "http://itunes.apple.com/us/album/rom-pom-pom-feat-prophet-z/id418616695"
If you don’t like Prophet-Z’s performance on the track, then enjoy the music for music’s sake. We all know this is a game where artists get jerked, but at least we can make it worth the bullshit ;) Till then, keep it well fresh and well sharp!!!
